I'm back!

This post has been a long time coming, but I finally was able to squeeze in some time to make it happen. With Lady GaGa's latest album comes enough club mixes from her discography to complete a CD-length mixset, and here is my attempt. I had a lot of fun putting this one together, so I hope you'll enjoy it! She's currently one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, and for good reason: Unique presentation, amazing costumes, kickass choreography, and not to mention the fact that this girl has ONE HELL OF A FANTASTIC SINGING VOICE, one which she is not shy about singing live with. I love a pop star who doesn't lip-synch. Kudos to you, Miss GaGa.

2011.09.26 - Random

Happy October everyone! Just another set of random stuff... I needed something with a newer groove and different songs to work out to - so here it is (though I re-used a track from the previous post cos I'm not quite sick of it yet).

I'm in love with David Guetta's "Nothing But The Beat" album, so a few of his latest collaborations ("Titanum" ft Sia, "Sweat" with Snoop Dogg, and "Sunshine" with Avicii) are included here as well.

I recently attended a Diana Ross concert in Denver where I was pulled up on stage to dance with Miss Ross herself. The song at the moment? "Upside Down," and in homage to that moment I've included a mix here by Almighty. (See me with Miss Ross at the bottom of this post!)

The version of Jennifer Lopez's "Let's Get Loud" included here is an extended mix made by yours truly. I've always thought the song lent itself to club play quite nicely, but clocking in at only four minutes it's just too short! I took it upon myself to create an extended mix, complete with beats at the beginning and ending to mix in and out, as well as little tweaks throughout the song to make it longer.

2011.08.09 - Random Dance [NEW LINKS]

Hello everyone! Sorry for the long absence yet again! My computer died for good finally, and it took me a while to replace it. Now that that's taken care of, bring on the music!!!

With a new computer comes newer mixing software, and I'm still learning the ropes on it so I hope the transisions are as flawless as you've come to expect from my work. Perfection is learned, and I'm kind of learning all over again! Bear with me!!! :)

This is more random tracks from my collection, mostly new. There are specifically two older songs that I put in just to fill the gaps (Jewel's "Only One Too" is a few years old and I've been trying to use it in one of these sets for a while but I keep forgetting about it; I heard Timbaland's "If We Ever Meet Again" while clubbing a few weeks ago and was reminded how much I like it), but otherwise everything is new to my collection, at least within a few weeks or so... new since my last post of this blog. Pride 2011 [Link fixed]

This particular post is a little late this year, I usually try and make the Pride mixset available on the first of June, but this year I was specifically waiting for a certain track to become available (in this case, Kylie's Put Your Hands Up) before completing and posting the set.

As you can see, Pride season is once again upon us. As I do every year, I wanted to make a set of uplifting dance tracks to liven our spirits in the Pride season, to remind us to be who we are and that there is nothing shameful about it.

My song selection this time around isn't completely random as you can probably see. I included Kylie Minogue's Better Than Today as a nod towards Dan Savage's "It Gets Better" campaign (itgetsbetter.org), Katy Perry's Firework is a reminder to never sell yourself short and be all you can be, Pink's Raise Your Glass is to embrace all that you are (and even all that you are not), Lady GaGa's Born This Way was destined to be a Pride anthem from the beginning and will clearly be so for years to come. Cascada's San Francisco is naturally, a nod to the great California city where Harvey Milk organized the first national Gay Pride rally, telling the world we were here to stay.

Of course, there are fantastic filler songs (Put Your Hands Up, Party All Night, Last Friday Night, Move Your Body, and Touch to name a few) that are just there to be a soundtrack to your Pride month, all the while reminding you to not take everything in life too seriously and just dance and have a good time.
